Notes
Ross Montgomery was in the Civil War. He was born in a log house. His father
and uncle
James built a log house on government land they had purchased. It was
where Pearl Beach is now located.
Ross volunteered and entered the Civil War when a boy of 18. In the last year
of the war, he was on Sherman's march to the sea.
