Notes

Line in Record @I0072@ (RIN 72) from GEDCOM file not recognized: _FA2 Thomas J Hendry and his brother William A and their families migrated west from Jefferson NY to near Painsville Ohio and then east again to Amity Township Pennsylvania. Union Army, Civil War, serving at Gettysburg. Obituary from THE UNION CITY TIMES, Union City, PA, Monday, April 12, 1909. Obtainee from Richard Snethen. Mr. Thonmas J. Hendry died quite suddenly at the home of his son, Mr. Frank Hendry in this city, last Friday afternoon from the effects of paralysis. Although in his seventy-seventh year, Mr. Hendry had been enjoying unusually good health and on the very morning of the day of his departure remarked to members of the family that he felt like a young man. Just before noon he was stricken down, the entire right side being affected, and at fifteen minutes after three o'clock in the afternoon his spirit had taken its flight. Mr. Hendry was born in Jefferson, N.Y., November 10, 1832. He was united in marriage to Miss Sara M. Pickett April 21, 1852 and to them were born three children, two of whom are now living as follows: Mrs. R. W. Haskell of Mooreheadville and Frank B. Hendry of this city. Their first child died in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Hendry located in Amity Township, this county in the early sixties where they resided until locating in Union City about six years ago. Mrs. Hendry died some four years ago and since her death Mr. Hendry had a good home with his children. He had been a member of the United Brethern Society for more than thirty years and his former pastor and intimate friend Rev. Markham of Beaverdam, conducted the funeral services assisted by Rev. J. A. Robinson, held from the late home this afternoon at two o'clock, interment being made beside his wife in beautiful Evergreen Cemetery. Among the relatives and friends here to attend the funeral today are Mr. F. W. Haskell and children, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Miller of Mooreheadville, Mr. Wayne Haskell from V. A., Mrs. Harriet Robbins of Tidioute, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Hendry, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Hendry of Meadville, and Mr. and Mrs. George E. Lloyd of Westfield, N. Y. The obituary for Sara M. (Pickett) Hendry states that Sara and Thomas J. had four children (Ella, Frank B., Lina and ?). The ? could be the child who died in infancy or perhaps the Caroline who we have down as their child.
