Notes

Marriage from IGI and Marriage Record of Ashtabula Co, OH: Aaron Wheeler, Jr. (of Harpersfield) and Lucinda Johnson married 21st July, 1818 by Adna Corle, J.P. Recorded NOV 19, 1818. 1820 census: OHIO, Ashtabula Co, Harpersfield, p. 11 lists both Aaron and Aaron, Jr. Wheeler, as follows: Aaron Wheeler - Males: Under 10, 16-18, three 16-26, and 45+; Females: Under 10, 10-16, and 45+. Aaron Wheeler, Jr. - Males: Under 10 & 16-26; Females: 16-26 [This would include Samuel, Aaron, Jr. and Lucinda.] Her father's (Samuel Johnson) will dated 16 APR 1833 names Samuel and Jane Wheeler as minor heirs of his deceased daughter Lucinda Raymond. [Does this mean that Aaron, Jr. Wheeler died and Lucinda remarried and then died before 1833?] Presume so, until proven otherwise. Need to check for death of Aaron Wheeler in Ashtabula Co before 1830. If so, Aaron Wheeler, Jr. died before 15 Dec. 1830, when Lucinda Wheeler married Philander Raymond in Geauga Co, OH. (The Aaron Wheeler located in Harpersfield, Ashtabula Co. in 1820-40 federal census is presumed to be the father of Aaron, Jr.). Samuel's will settlement includes payment to Aaron Wheeler, guardian. It is presume that the male 15-20 and the female 15-20 with Aaron Wheeler in 1840 census (Harpersfield, Ashtabula Co, OH) are Samuel and Jane - Lucinda's children. Thus presume that Aaron, Jr. and Samuel (husband of sister Lucretia are brothers!). IGI for Ohio lists marriage of Lucinda Wheeler to Philander Raymond of 15 DEC 1830 in Geauga Co. In 1830 census of Geauge Co, Madison twp, p.188 lists Philander Raymond with Males: 1123(4?)32 and one female 5-10. [Thus he was widowed by June of 1830 and could easily have remarried in Dec. of 1830.] 1850 census:OH, Ashtabula Co, Harpersfield #657-680 lists Aaron N. (55-NY) and Ann (55-OH) Wheeler with Lewis H. 26-OH, Henry B. 18-OH, and Margaret 16-OH. Who is this family? 1860 census:OH, Ashtabula Co, Harpersfield, p. 357, 19th June, (28-OH) and Frank (4-OH) Wheeler with E. Frisbee (f-20-OH), Geo.
