1991 (March phone call to Mala Albertson Owen: When she lived in Ft. Dodge, IA, Ray and Charles Jeffers were meat cutters there; she knew they were related, but not how. She also knew their mother "Aunt Min". 1900 Soundex (1518 3rd Ave. N, Ft. Dodge, Wahkonsa twp, Webster Co., IA) Minnie E. Jeffers is listed with 6 children ages 19 to 3 years. 1885 state census: Iowa, Howard Co., Albion Twp. lists Henry (36-IL) and Minnie (20-IL) Jeffers with Raymond (3-Howard Co.) and Emma (0-Howard Co.). next to Christian (78-NY) and Deborah (67-OH) Jeffers. 1880 census - IA, Howard Co, Vernon Springs, Cresco - lists Henry (31-Laborer-IL-NY-OH) and Minnie (15-IA-NY-PA) Jeffers. 1870 census - Missouri, Polk Co., Marion Twp. 13 AUG - Henry Jeffers (21-IL) is listed with William and Martha (Jeffers) Lloyd and their two small children. See File regarding notes from Adrian Jeffers: Henry Jeffers and family to Missouri about 1897/98. Settled near Joplin, Jasper co, MO. Started back to Iowa in 1899 when Henry died en route. Minnie Nelson Jeffers was 'adopted' by her maternal grandparents. She was named Mary, but raised as Minnie.
