John Adams, who gave loyal and faithful service in behalf the Union during the great nationa l conflict as a private in Company C, One-Hundred and Fiftieth Ohio infantry, and was sent t o London after the close of the war as the European representative of the Gardner Gun Company , of Cleveland, Ohio, and died in London after having induced the English government to adop t the use of the Gardner machine gun in the British army and navy; Transcribed from volume III, part 1 of Kansas: a cyclopedia of state history, embracing event s, institutions, industries, counties, cities, towns, prominent persons, etc. ... / with a su pplementary volume devoted to selected personal history and reminiscence.
