Indenture for Shares owned by James Harper and Timothy McIlvain of the Town of Windsor, Connecticut Colony to
Alexander Harper, dated December 11, 1769.
                                         
This Indenture identifies Timothy McIlvain and James Harper as signers of the original Patent and shows their
location as being in Windsor, Connecticut. James Harper b. 1722 is the son of Joseph Harper b. 1699.

                

This Indenture   made the Eleventh day of December in the Tenth year of the Reign of our sovereign Lord
                                                                               George the third by the grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith
&c: Annoque Dominio One thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Nine Between James Harper and Timothy McIlvain both of the Colony Connecticut ~
County of Hartford and Town of Windsor of the one part And Alexander Harpur of the County of Albany and Province of New York of the other part Witnesseth
that they the Said James Harpur and Timothy McIlvaine for and in consideration of the Sum of Ten Shillings current money of the Province of New York ~
aforesaid to each of them in hand paid by the Said Alexander Harpur at or before the Ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof they and
each of them do hereby acknowledge Have granted bargained and Sold and by these presents do Severally and respectively and for their Several and ~
Respective Heirs Executors and Administrators Grant bargain and sell unto the Said Alexander Harpur all the parts and Shares of the Said James Harper
and Timothy McIlvain of and in a Certain Tract or Parcel of land within the Province of New York Situate Lying and being in the County of Albany between
the Cookquago Branch of the Delaware River and the branch of the Susquehannah river Called Adiquitange Beginning at a Rock maple Tree marked on
four Sides with a blase and three Notches and with the Letters and figures A C 1768 Standing on a high point of land at the South Side of a Small pond of water
Called by the Indians Utstayantho from whence the Said branch of the Delaware called by the Indians Cookquago Issues and runs thence North Thirty
One Hundred and Eleven Chains. Then South thirty Degrees East Seven Hundred Chains to a Tract of Six Thousand Acres of Land granted to Arent Bradt
Volkert Van Vechten and others in the year One Thousand Seven Hundred and forty then along the Northern and Eastern bounds of the last mentioned Tract
North, Easterly and westerly as they run to the Said branch of the Delaware River Called Cookquago then up the Northern Bank of the Said Branch as it~
winds and truns to the Rock maple Tree where this Tract first began Containing Twenty Two Thousand Acres of Land and the usual allowance for~
highways Together with the Appurtenances To have and To hold all and singular the Said Several and respective parts and Shares of the
Said James Harpur and Timothy McIlvain with the appurtenances unto the Said Alexander Harpur his Exectuors Administrators and Assigns from
the day next before the day of date of these presents for during and untill the full and term of one whole year from the new next ensuing and fully to
be Compleat and ended Yielding rendering and Paying therefor unto the Said James Harper a[nd Timot]hy McIlvain their and each of their
respective Executors or Administrators Assigns the rent of one pepper Corn only on the last day of th[   ] if the Same Shall be Lawfully deman
"ded. To the Intent that by Virtue of these presents and by force of the Statute for Transferring of us[       ]Possesion the Said Alexander Harpur
may be in the Actual Possesion of the Premises hereby granted And be thereby Enabled to Accept and take a grant and releave of the reversion and
Inheritance thereof to him and his heirs and Assigns for ever In Witness where of the parties to these presents have hereunto Interchangeably Set their
hands and Seals the day and year first above Written
