In the name of God Amen I William Gallt
being of sound mind though weak in body and
considering the uncertainty of Life and the certain
-ty of death have made and do by these presents
make ordain constitute and appoint this as
my last will and testament in which I have
had chiefly in view to give and bequeath my
worldly Interest as Justice does and ought to disert
just I will my Soul to god that gave it in hum-
-ble hope that in and by the Merits of the Redeem
er I may find favor and happiness with him
I give my Body to the earth in humble hope
of a blessed resurection with the just at that
great and awful Judgement which I believe must
come. I will that my funeral be solem may
-ed without pomp according to the custom of
the country and that all my debts and

funeral charges shale honestly and faith-
fully first paid I give and bequeeth to my
well beloved Sons Mathew and Alexander all
and singular my estate both real and perso-
nal to be by them held in joint Copartner-
ship so long as they shale chuse and that if
they shale choose to divide the said estate that
they shall each be entitlled to an equal half
of all and every part and parcel there of, which
estate is to them given on this express condi-
tion; first that they allow my wife Mary +
such room in my now dwelling House as she
shall choose so long as she shall a continue
my widow, which they shall at their
own proper Costs and Charges keep in good re-
pair during her Life on so long as she shall
remain my Widow, and that they furnish
her both Winter and Summer with fire-
wood of suitable quality and length redy
ready for her use either brought into her room
or at her door as she shall from time to time
direct, also to provide in her said Room suffici-
ent food good and suitable to her age of
bread flour Meal Meat sacre and drink and
to provide suitable and good advise medicine &
and attenddance of of Physicians or Surgeons and
Nurses during any sickness that she may

have while she remains my widow, and
further to provide her with cloth reddy made
or with wool & Flax for her sufficient clothing
& bedding at her choice & to allow and keep in
repair good and sufficient furniture for every
use in said Room to make her either in
health or in sickness comfortable, all of
which to be suitable to her age and consideration
I will that my sons aforesaid pay to my
well beloved Son John five Shillings in full
discharge of all and singular his claims on
my Estate within twelve Months after they
shall have received all debts to me due at my
death and have paid all debts from me
due at my death. I will that my afore-
said Sons pay to my well beloved Son James(struck out)
William and to my well beloved Son James
and to my well beloved Son Joseph the same
sum to each and at the same time as is
before ordered to be paid to my son John –
I will also that they pay to my well beloved
Daughter Mariam the Wife of John
Church ten Dollars in full of all her
Claims as aforesaid I will that my afore-
said Sons Mathew and Alexander pay to
my Daughter Abigail on the day of her
Mariage or on the day appointed for the
payment as aforesaid to my son John, one
good Cow six good Sheep and allow her

to use as she thinks proper forever the
bed and Furniture now called hers, and
at the day of her Mariage to furnish her
with a decent set off of Furniture to –
keep House. I will that my well beloved –
Wife Mary be Executrise and my Sons – –
Mathew and Alexander Executors of this
my last Will and Testament praying them
to take on them the Solemn Charge and
that they duely observe the directions of
the same. In testimony whereof I – +
have hereunto set my hand and affixed
my Seal at Cherry Valley this ninth day
of June in the year of our Lord one thou-
sand eight hundred and one 1801.

I personally appeared before me Moses Kent
Surrogate of the said County of Otsego

James Church of the said County who being
duly sworn on his oath declared that he
                       acknowledge and
did hear William Gollt ^ declare that
an Instrument in Writing (of which the
preceeding is a true Copy ) was his last
will and Testament, that he had signed
and sealed the same for the purposes
therein mentioned, and that the said Wil
-liam Gollt had desired him the Deponent
and the other two Witnesses to subscribe –
their Names as Witnesses to the Execution
of the same, that at the home thereof he
the said William was of sound and +
disposing Mind and Memory to the –
best of the knowledge and belief of him
the deponent, and that his name sub-
scribed to the said Will is of his own pro-
per hand Writing which he subscribed a
as a witness thereto in the Testators Presence
and that he saw Samuel and John
Dickson the other Witnesses to the said
Will subscribe their Names as witnesses
there to in the testators Presence; and that
Mathew and Alexander Gollt two of
The Executors of the said Will likewise
appeared before me and were duly –
sworn to the true performance and
exectuors of the said Will by severally
taking the usual oath as Executors.

A Codicil to the preceeding Will Be it
understood that it is my will that the dispo-
sition of my Property as mentioned in the will
within Will is designed and intended by me
to be given to the Persons mentioned in the said
within Will and each of them as is therein
mentioned and th to them Kins respectively for
-ever. Cherry Valley July 3rd 1801. Witness my

Griffin – Otsego County ss- Be it mentioned that +
on the nineteenth day of September in the year
one thousand eight hundred and one person-
ally appeared before me Moss Kent Surrogate
of the said County Joseph White of said County –
who being duly sworn on his oath declared
that he did see willWilliam Gallt sign and seal the
preceeding written Instrument parporting to
be a Codicil to the last will and testament
of the said William and heard him publish
and declare the same as and for a Codicil
to his last will and testament, that at the
time thereof the said William was of sound dis-
poning Mind and Memory to the best of the
knowledge and belief of him the Deponent +
in this his name subscribed to the same
as of his proper hand writing which he

presence, and that he saw Eleanor Dickson
and stephen Griffin subscribers their Names
as witnesses thereto in the Testator's Presence

by the Grace of God preserved independence to
All to whom these Presents shall arise or may
concern and Greeting. Know ye that at Coopers-
Town in the County of Otsego on the thirty=
-first day of August and the nineteenth day of
September in the year one thousand eight
hundred and one before Moss Kent Surrogate +
of our said County the last will and testament
of William Gallt II(lined out) late of the said County de-
ceased (a Copy whreof is hereunto annexed ) was
proved and is now approved and allowed of
by us; and the said deceased having while he
lived and at the time of his Death goods chat-
tles and Credits within this State, by means
whereof the proving and registering the said
Will and the granting administration of all
and singular the said Goods Chattels and
Credits and also the auditing allowing and
final discharging the amount thereof doth
the with us; the administration of all and
singular the said goods chattels and credits of

of the said deceased and any way con-
cerning his Will is granted unto Matthew
and Alexander Gallt two of the execu-
tors in the said Will named, they being first
duly sworn well and faithfully to administer
the same and to make and exhibit a true
and perfect Inventory of all and singular
the said Goods Chattels and credits and also to render a
Just and true account thereof when there-
-unto required. In testimony whereof we have
caused the Seal of Office of our Said Sur-
-rogate to be hereunto affixed. Witness Moss.

aforesaid the twenty=first dya of Septem+
ber in the year of our Lord one thousand

ed with the Certificates of the Proof thereof
and the qualification of Mathew and
Alexander Gallt as executors and the
Letter Testamentary therein recorded this
