The Southern Part of the Province of New York

This map, by Thomas Kitchin, shows roads connecting various communities. Of importance to us is the road shown connecting Schoharie and the communities along Schoharie Creek running south-southeast to Kats Kill, Kingston and south to New York City. This was an important link, other than Albany and south on the Hudson.

The map was printed in 1778 for the London Magazine.

This full map is held in the New York Public Library collection.
