2003 Summer Programs at Shandy Hall

May 3rd - Opening Day
  Join us for cookies and lemonade! See two 19th century gentlemen settle a dispute with a duel.
May 17th - Colonel Robert Harper birthday celebration
  Colonel Harper invites you to a grand celebration. Enjoy some delicious cake courtesy of Polly Harper.
June 20th-22nd - 1812 Reenactment/Encampment
  This is the second year for this event. It will include soldier's demonstrations, camp life, first person interpretation, children's programs and women's role in early 19th century Ohio. Wood, water, straw, and restrooms provided. Powder bounty for all units. British, Native, and American units from the War of 1812 are invited. 100 acres of land, great ground for skirmish tactics! One public tactical each day. Sutlers welcome.
Family Days - Sunday - July 20th
  Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy 19th century games, including croquet and stilt walking.
Shandy Hall Music Festival - August 9th
  Bring a blanket and listen to dulcimer music, highlighting songs from the Harpers days at Shandy Hall.
The Harpers Come to Ohio - August 24th
  A celebration to honor the arrival of the Harper family in the Western Reserve. Meet Alexander Harper and try your hand at surveying.
Ohio Bicentennial Military Timeline - September 6th
  See soldiers from the 200 years of Ohio military history. Revolutionary War, 1812, Civil War, and World War II. Demonstrations held throughout the day.
Harvest Days - September 21st
  Its harvest time at Shandy Hall. See craftspeople demonstrate rug hooking, spinning, and various 19th century crafts. Special appearance by the Ramrod Busters (early 19th century settlers)
Haunted Halloween - October 25th 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  A fun filled afternoon with games and prizes and Halloween treats! Space is limited, please call for reservations.
Appreciation Day/Closing Day October 26th
  Colonel Harper will be on hand to say a fond farewell until next spring. Join the Colonel for a special tour.

p.m. Admission - $4 for adults and $3 for seniors
and students; WRHS Members and children 5 years
of age and younger are admitted for free.
